Bioinformatics
Computing Cluster
The Bioinformatics Computing Cluster at the MOC – MultiOmics Centre for Food and Health provides a high-performance data infrastructure designed specifically for processing, backup and storage of large-scale omics datasets. Its computational power and scalable storage enable companies and research partners in agriculture, food production, biotechnology, and health to reliably manage and analyze even very extensive genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data.
With regularly updated reference databases and a robust high-performance environment, data from biological samples can be analyzed and processed according to current scientific standards, ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and long-term data integrity. Particular emphasis is placed on secure data storage and the protection of sensitive information.
The cluster represents the technological backbone for data-intensive projects and offers companies access to advanced bioinformatics resources without the need to invest in complex in-house infrastructure.

Services
For companies and institutions looking to interpret Omics data or gain deeper insights into their products and biological systems, the MOC offers a broad portfolio of bioinformatics services. These include standardized processing of genomics and transcriptomics data as well as reproducible analysis of workflows for complex metabolomics and proteomics datasets.
Robust analytical pipelines, rigorous quality controls, and the use of cutting-edge software tools ensure that large data volumes can be processed efficiently and translated into meaningful biological insights. Untargeted metabolomics, which focuses on detecting and characterizing previously unknown metabolites, requires specialized expertise that the MOC team has built over many years.
In addition, the implementation of integrative MultiOmics approaches enables us to link results across different molecular layers. This holistic perspective reveals deeper mechanisms underlying complex biological systems and supports companies in driving innovation and improving product quality and product development.
